Thanksgiving
Each year the YWCA of the Harbor Area identifies families in need during Thanksgiving. With the help of local churches, our local College culinary school, business sponsors and private donors, the YWCA is able to distribute baskets with turkeys and food items for Thanksgiving as ready made meals to the needy and homeless.
Breakfast with Santa
An annual event held on the first Saturday in December every year. Supported by volunteers and Santa and his Elves, the YWCA hosts its annual Breakfast with Santa for children 10 years of age and younger, where each child receives a pancake breakfast, gets to sit for a photo with Santa, and is given an age-appropriate gift from Santa.
Adopt-A-Family Program
A true program of giving! Each year the YWCA of the Harbor Area identifies families in need for the Holiday season. Sponsored families are matched with donors/company donors or individuals that provide for each family member with gifts, food items, decorations and other necessities as shown on their wish lists.
YWCA Holiday Toolkit for Giving
- Although we are still facing a challenged economy, there are still simple and small ways to give this Holiday Season:
- Buy a gift card next time you shop at your local grocery store or favorite store (Target, Ross, Walmart, etc.,)
- Buy a toy for as little as $10 next time you shop
- Donate any unused gift cards
You may sponsor a family for the holidays with your generous donation. Please contact us for more information programs@ywcaharbor.org.
